And here's to you, Mrs Robinson

I lost my Neoprint virginity on Sunday. All I can say about the place that it was very pink.

And Japanesey.

I got goosebumps walking into it. I think I have a phobia of large, concentrated areas of pink, loud, shiny things. *Shudder*

They also took a damn long time to come out. Not to mention there was mass panic because Zilong and Ophie couldn't figure out what the hell all those Japanese characters meant. Oh well. Trial and Error. ^_^

We went to watch a movie after that. "Rumour has it." It could have been much, much worse. The only highlight for me was when "Mrs Robinson" by Simon and Garfunkel started playing.

Much giggling and whacking occurred that day.

Once upon a time..

There was a town called Lockerville. Many box-people lived in lockerville.

Their names were, (from left to right)

Impassive-y, Happ-y, WTF?-y,

WTF?!-y (WTF?-y and WTF?!-y are twins), Scaredy,

Confused-y,

And Dead-y.

Needless to say, they lead very happy lives. Including Deady, although s/he was just.. Dead.

Honestly, this is as fun as the Quantum Mechanics that they teach us in Chemistry. Not Quantum Mechanics exactly, but the Quantum Model of the atom. No sarcasm meant.

And I do understand the Horizons Of Expectations. (Or, *childish snigger* H.O.E for short)

On a related note, G.U.T and T.O.E! (Grand Unified Theory and Theory Of Everything respectively)

Warning. Angst and spoilers in the post below.

I wish I knew how to quit you.
-Jack Twist, Brokeback Mountain

The last time I felt like this was when I finished The Sandman graphic novel series by Neil Gaiman, and I realised that Morpheus was dead and gone with absolutely no chance of him coming back.

The same with Brokeback Mountain.

I had wanted to watch this for a long time. By the end of the movie, this feeling of weariness and heart-ache crept over and haunted me for the rest of the night, but not because the movie was over. Rather, its ending is absolutely heart-breaking. I still haven't come to grips with it.

With such an ending, one naturally thinks of alternative, happier conclusions. The What-if's, the Could-have's and the Never-will's. I think the reason for this would be the familiarity and relation between movies and happy-endings, and the time-old lesson that love, whether between persons or an object, overcomes all.

Till Death Do us Part.

Brokeback Mountain.. is a tragedy, bittersweet at best. It's conclusion is one filled with longing, regret, and love; or at least the realisation of love. Forbidden love.

Perhaps the greatest tragedy of all is that no matter what you come up with, whether the giving of second-chances or the perfect solution to the problems in a futile attempt to thwart fate, nothing, not even love, can change it.

Save the life of my child/Cried the desperate mother

A line from "Save the life of my child" by Simon and Garfunkel. *waves flag*

Huzzah. Today we had a mock Napfa (aka, physical fitness test from hell) test. Three stations. Standing broad jump, Incline pull-ups, and a 2.4 km run. The first two weren't that bad, then my leg started fucking up halfway through the run, effectively failing me. Gah. Now I have to make it up with a third period of PE to 'train'.

The funny thing is that when it started to hurt, I suddenly recalled random Biology facts. Like "Lactic Acid builds up when your cells enter Anerobic Respiration and the large amounts of this in our cells results in the aches and pains we get when we over-exert ourselves during exercise. Cells enter Anerobic Respiration because they are not getting enough oxygen to enter Aerobic Respiration (which is what they usually do) when one exercises."

I am such a nerd. ^_^

The dastardly thing also ate into our precious breaktime. That means no time to eat. That means (in my case) relative grouchiness and a headache. Bloody Napfa.

Very first Chemistry Practical today. Lighting up Bunsen Burners are fun. Practicals are quite enjoyable really.

I shall skip ahead a little.

Writer's Circle was on today. Me at Cat very quickly wrote the poems that we were supposed to write over the Chinese New Year break. Actually I had a headstart of about a hour. She finished hers in 15 minutes, I finished mine in 90. Ah well.

It turns out that we didn't need to panic and scribble furiously. There was no sharing of poems because the chairperson knew that no one would bother to write. She wasn't very far off the mark.. We had an activity that involved the writing of two nouns, everyone stuffing their nouns in an envelope, the envelope getting shaked vigourously, and then a person drawing out slips of paper two at a time and someone else volunteers to take the resulting combination and write something about it.

I got Squirrel and Sasquatch. Some poor girl got Man and Balls..

Oh woe.

I am sick. Mild fever, bad headache and sore throat. Instead of my normal voice I have this high whispery one in it's place and people have to strain to hear me.

My Cousin visited us this year. He stopped over for about a day enroute to a long holiday in the United States (It's his four month break in University). The last time I saw him was four years ago and he's really quite good looking now.

No I don't plan on veing incesteous anytime in the future.
